Install the FTP Server on Os Centos 6 and7 64 / 32 Bit – After we configure httpd.conf, now we will install the FTP server so we can upload a file to the server. Installation using a SSH client, here I am using Putty.

VPS FTP

  1. Installation

Just type the following command:

yum install vsftpd

Then install the FTP client in our VPS:

yum install ftp

2. Configuration

Now change the vsftpd. conf at/etc/vsftpd.

vi /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf

The first is that we do not allow anonymous:

anonymous_enable=NO

Local_enable then:

local_enable=YES

Blocks FTP accounts to see other places besides his folder:

chroot_local_user=YES

Restart vsftpd:

service vsftpd restart

So that vsftpd will run itself when booting the server add:

chkconfig vsftpd on

3. Create FTP Accounts

We will now create FTP accounts and then change the home directory of the account to the folder/var/www/html/username. Remember to replace username with your username.

adduser username
 passwd username

Then enter password.

The default home directory for each user is/home/username, do the following command to replace it to a new folder:

Then enter password.

The default home directory for each user is/home/username, do the following command to replace it to a new folder:

usermod -m -d /var/www/html/username username

Now try to login using the FTP account that was made.

If I were to direct the home directory in the folder/var/www/html because it used myself, but because the folder is owned by root then I need to do the following command:

chown -R username:username /var/www/html
